This is the story of the beautiful, historic American River in the rugged Sierra Foothills above Sacramento, California, and a plan to drown its spectacular canyons with the proposed Auburn Dam.  The dam never came to pass as a result of the many passionate voices who fought to keep the American River wild.  Length: 12 minutes. Funded by the Compton Foundation and Friends of the River. Released in 1998.
